The real difference is not play versus study.

Many parents hear the word playway and think it means children are only playing. That is not correct. A good playway environment is carefully guided by teachers. Children may be singing, sorting, building, coloring, listening to stories or playing with blocks, but each activity is connected to a learning goal.

Traditional preschool often focuses on early writing, worksheets, sitting discipline and repetition. These things may look serious from outside, but for a child aged 2 to 6, too much pressure can make school feel heavy before the child is emotionally ready.
